Julia Ann Hayes was born in Haleburg, Alabama on July 7, 1941 to the late AC Grace and the Late Gladys L. Tharp.
She was a Faithful memeber of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and worked in the Culinary ministry until her health began to fail.
Her work history includes the hospitality industry in the early 60's Courtesy Cleaners and Laundry, Palmetto Federal Savings and Loan where she retired after 23 years of Service. She later came out of retirement to work in the retail industry for Luria'scatalog/ showroom store for 2 years and later worked for JC Penney for 15 years where she retired again briefly. Manatee County Sheriff's office as a crossing Guard was her last employer.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Hayes Jr.;brother, Jerry Grace, Sr.; sister, W. Jewell Grace; in law, Minnie M. Thomas; and brother in law, Leroy Ash.
She leaves to cherishher great preciuos memories three children: Dorothy Hayes, Bradenton, FL, Frank Hayes, Sr. (Mattie) Jacksonville, FL and Sharon Sykes (Wilson) Covington, Georgia; Sister, Jeanette Ash; brother, Barry Grace of Philadelphia, PA; in laws: Phyllis Hayes, Tampa, FL, Mitchell Hayes, Jacksonville, FL, and Morris Hayes (Valerie) of Jacksonville, FL; Grandchildren: Celeste McDuffie, Brodderick McKnight, Frank HAyes Jr (Aleshia), Michael Hayes (Keysha), Brian HAyes, and Plummer Williams; great grands: Yari, Julissa, Jazmine, Asia, Frank Hayes III, and Bryson McKnight; great great grand, Yana Williams; and god daughter, Tiffany Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
