Minister Carl E. Williams was born on Friday, July 1, 1949, in Emanuel County, GA., to the late John Robert Williams and the late Bessie Mae Fair. He took his rest from the cares of this world on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Bradenton, Florida.
Carl accepted Christ at an early age and over the years he fellowshipped with many churches throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. His most recent affiliation was with Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Bradenton, Florida, under the leadership of Elder Ruby M. Jones.
During his lifetime, he worked for several black owned businesses in the Newtown Community of Sarasota before starting his own lawn care service. He was known to lend a hand to anyone he could help and would often share the word of God with whomever would take the time to listen.
While he never married nor had children of his own, he would often give words of encouragement and advice to his many nieces and nephews. Those who knew Carl, knew he loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends, and it was during those conversations he had some favorite sayings that will be forever missed, they include: “As a whole”, “As I was saying”, “Verbatim”, and Grey Poupon!”
He was preceded in death by siblings: Eliza Williams Smith Bryant, Eleanor “Elnora” McQueen Allen, Angela Annette Leverett, and Frederick Williams.
He leaves to cherish his many memories siblings: to include brothers: Robert Williams (Addie), Moses Williams, and Freddie L. Hamilton all of Sarasota, FL; sisters: Sarah Eady (Terry) of Bradenton, FL, Katie Payne (Ronald), and Veronica Rock (Andrew) all of Sarasota, FL; several uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowful friends
