Larry Leverne Cheaves was born September 9, 1964 in Baltimore Maryland to the late Jackson Cheaves and Addie Mae Ford.

They moved to Manatee County when he was very young.  He received his education in both Manatee and Lee County School districts.  Larry  accepted Christ at Church of Christ at a very early age.

Larry was a self employed roofer.  When the roofing business was slow, he worked as a long shoreman.  He loved sports,  the New England Patriots was his  favorite team.  He loved traveling, cooking on the grill, and above all he loved his wife the most.  Larry and Sonja knew each other from childhood up to the 8th grade (they were sweet on each other).   Somehow the family moved away and they lost contact with each other.  As fate would have it, they were brought back together when they were adults in 2015.  And lo and behold, they were married August 12, 2016.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents: Addie Mae Ford, and Jackson Cheaves; grandparents: Lucille and George Cheaves; grandparents in law: Estelle and George Truewell, Earline and James Williams; mother and father in law, Inez and Willie James Williams.
