Pastor Doretha L. Franklin was born October 19, 1955, to Quilla Mae Smalls and the late Benjamin P. Smalls in Palmetto, Florida.

Pastor Doretha received her education from Lincoln Adult Center in Manatee County and Keiser University. She worked as a Caregiver at Riverfront Nursing Home and Retired in 2015. Pastor Doretha accepted Christ at an early age. She was a Great Prayer Warrior and Loved to Praise and Worship. She Loved the Lord and it was evident in her dedication to God, her Church, Children, and her friends. Pastor Doretha always had an encouraging or spiritual word for everyone.

Pastor Doretha was preceded in death by her son, Carl Salter Jr.; brothers: Benjamin Smalls, Henry Smalls, and Freddie Smalls; and sister,  Aletha Williams.

Left to cherish her love and memories are her children: Katrina Franklin, Charles Franklin Salters, Jr.; seven grandchildren: Shauntavia Green, Carl L. Salter, Canaidja Salter, Shavanti Salter, Cartravius Salter, Charles Franklin III, Kimaya Franklin, Ten Great-Grand Children, Brother: Johnnie (Vickie), Sister: Jacquelyn (Marvin), Aunt: Lillie Evans, Special Friends:  Josephine Thomas, and Patricia Kilpatrick; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
