Darnell Brown, Sr.  was born November 11, 1946 in Bradenton, Florida to the late John H.  and Bertha Brown, Sr.

He attended Lincoln Memorial High School and graduated in the Class of 1968.  After graduating he joined the United States Army.  While in the U S Army he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal,  Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Medical Badge, and Bronze Star  Medal.  He received an Honorable Discharge July 21, 1970.

Darnell Brown was married to Sylvia Harvey on October 12, 1969 in Houston, Texas.  To this union three children were born:  Fara, Shara, and Darnell, Jr.

He was a dedicated and devoted Minister at the Church of Christ for 40 years.  He retired from Manatee County School Board after working for 34 years.

Darnell is preceded in death by: Milton Brown, Wilbert Brown, and Doretha  Diaz.

He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia; three children: Shara Billingslea (Richard), Fara, and Darnell, Jr.; seven grandchildren: Tiquan Conley, T'Ziah Conley, Tsion Brown, Iyani Brown, Xarius Wade Brown, Phoenix Mosby, and Kaleb Mosby; four siblings: Lester, Sr. (Betty), John (Elzora), Evelyn Braswell, and Janice Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
