Audrey's Life Journey

A time to be born:

Audrey Smith was born on February 12, 1960 in Orlando, Florida to the late  Jeannette Smith-Sanford and Macon Harris.

A time to learn and Love

She graduated from Evans High School in Orlando, Florida in 1978.  She continued her education at Valencia College where she obtained her electrician certificate in 1981.

A time to Labor

Audrey was employed as an Electrician and worked on Construction fields involving heavy machinery.  She became disabled in 2010.  She then moved to Union Springs, Alabama where she     began to write poems and poetry for Union Springs Herald.

She once wrote an anecdote stating:

I, Audrey Smith-Merideth, live in Union Springs, Alabama. I enjoy writing poetry and short stories for the Union Springs Herald   sharing my walk of life.  God said if you can reach one, job well done.

I'm looking to share and reach out, no matter how big, how bad, in the end God sees and knows all.

Christianity has its everyday obstacles and struggles just like every other walk of life.  See I choose a Christian Life, its an everlasting life.  For what God gives no man can take away.

I am thankful to still be here to share through poetry and stories.

A time to leave

On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the Lord saw his servant growing weary and dispatched His angelic escort to transition Audrey from this life to Life everlasting.  She quietly slept away and went home with the Lord.  She fought a good fight, never gave up and God gave her the rest she deserved and needed from her journey.

A time to cherish

Audrey was preceded in death by her father, Macon Harris; her mother, Jeannette Smith Sanford, and her daughter, Juannetta Jones.

She leaves to cherish her legacy: daughter, Lakita Satchell (Paul) of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren: Laquavia Smith, Justice         Augustin, Courtney Stanley, Jamari Stanley, Devan Joseph, and Devante Joseph; great grandchildren: Daniel Lampkin, Jr., Devan Joseph, Jr., and Devante Joseph, Jr.; sisters: Vanessa Merideth, Agnes Green, Danyell Merideth, Faith Washington (Jason), and Jeanie Roberts;  brothers: Gaston Merideth (Kathy), and Rickey Merideth (Mary); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and    sorrowing friends.
